When I went to pay the bill I discovered that I had been charged £7.50 x 2 for the duration of our 6 day stay and I only booked as I was lead to believe that the breakfast was fully inclusive which made the stay outside our budget and this seemed a stealth charge! Also the breakefast was bland and someone must go to the local suoermarket every morning and full their trolly up with smart price sausages, eggs, tomatos, bacon, etc . So to conclude i booked what appeared to be a very good price for a budget hotel but with the added shock of being charged for the breakfasts i could have stayed in quite a few far nicer hotels in Edinburgh ,The EllerSLY has a very poor method of ripping offf customers!!.

A very pleasant hotel with plenty of lounge space. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Its a small but very good menu.

The shower water in our room was very diffcult to on and off

The prices of room are reasonably lower. It's a convenient location if you travel by car. Nice and quite location.

The bathroom shower tap was faulty upon our arrival at night. We informed the staff but they did not get it repaired the following day. The staff was not responsible enough to update us regarding this issue.

We very much enjoyed our stay, the staff were very helpful, breakfast was excellent and service was first class. We had dinner on both evenings which was most enjoyable. I must also praise the staff at reception who were extremely helpful with details of buses etc. as we were there to visit the Royal Highland show.

Unfortunately I suffer from severe arthritis and when booking I didn't request a room with a shower cubicle so I did find the shower over the bath difficult but we were only staying two nights so I didn't ask if it were possible to have a different room.

We loved the Ellersly! The staff was incredibly helpful and always so friendly. Our room, the Glencoe suite, was spacious, cozy, comfortable and very relaxing. I would be hard-pressed to choose another hotel for my next visit to Edinburgh.

Truly the only thing, and this was not even a real issue for me, was that there is no free wifi in the hotel room, however that seems to be the norm throughout the uk, so it didn't bother me.

    Its old style character.

Nothing, but it could use alittle tlc in places.

    friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast

rooms too noisy and bright to get a good nights sleep, other guests sounded like elephants wandering around above and next door, also street light outside room black out curtains would be good

24 hour bar spacious room, comfortable bed, cleanliness was to a good standard.

Our door didn't lock from inside, room was pretty cold but was fine as time went on, shower dripping all night, not to do with hotel but taxi fares to get there cost a fortune!!! So unless you know the buses well don't do it!

Friendly staff , free parking ,nice seating area downstairs.

In serious need of updating. dirty uncomfortable room(250). Food and drinks very expensive and not very good.

The hotel was pretty and room was clean. The location between the city center and the airoport was perfect for me. The most of staff was kind and friendly.

The shower did not work and tilling of bathroom looked bad. The hotel did not have enough plug reductions for non-British guests so I did not have possibility to charge my cell phone.

I thnk I was expecting more. My room was clean but at the end of a corridor, back of the building and, although a double, would have seemed small if I was not alone and only staying for one night. The diet coke I purchased at the bar was undrinkable and although I said it was the worst I had ever tasted nothing was offered in recompense. A very impersonal place to stay.

The Murrayfield location was an excellent base, with a bus stop nearby taking 15-20 minutes to get to Princes Street, with buses every few minutes, but near enough to walk there & back. The room was comfortable, although showing a few signs of being dated. Plenty of parking onsite (free), and they were fine about us leaving our car there for the rest of the day after we'd checked out. Can't comment on food / breakfast as we didn't eat there.

On our second day we had no water in the morning so couldn't shower or use the toilet and had to wait for a plumber to fix it. Would have been nice if perhaps they'd offered to move us to another room rather than us waste our holiday waiting for them to fix it, but maybe they were full.

The exterior building was impressive, and the ground floor common areas are big and comfortable, which is what drew me to choose this hotel. A good situation on the outskirts of the city, and able to park outside the hotel off the road. Breakfast was self service, and plenty of it.

Very basic room. Thought I was getting a last minute bargain, but really it was only worth what I paid. Slightly disappointed! The twin room was clean but tired and dated, the decor was old and the bathroom ceiling had damp patches, rust, and mouldy grouting. Didnt see anygarden areas - there are buildings are all around, including newly built flats that will look straight into the back bedroom windows when occupied. Probably would not stay again. Though would stay in the Corstorphine Road area.

We enjoyed the location and the general ambience and decor of the hotel. The staff were excellent!

We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and its location, but our bathrrom was very poor and had areas of damp in it, which does detract from the level of satisfaction.

The room was perfectly adequate, checking in and out was efficiently handled and the location suited my requirements

I felt the reception had a slight care home feel to it and the en suite was tired and could have been better furnished.
